Parnautit: A Foundation for the Future
The Mineral Exploration and Mining Strategy is the Government of Nunavut's plan to create opportunities for Nunavummiut to participate in the sustainable development of our mineral resources.
The strategy is intended to guide development in the period leading up to the devolution of management responsibilities for lands and resources from the federal government. The strategy will be released this March at the PDAC Convention 2007.
The goal of the strategy is: “To create the conditions for a strong and sustainable minerals industry that contributes to a high and sustainable quality of life for all Nunavummiut.”
