Investing in Nunavut
Nunavut is a land of opportunity for potential investors. The territory is abundant in natural resources: rich in fish and local wildlife, minerals, with untapped oil and gas potential. Nunavut also offers one of the most spectacular tourism destinations on the planet for nature enthusiasts, hunters and eco-adventurers.
The territory has a reliable and efficient transportation system – turbot from Pangnirtung are fished one day, processed the next, and at the Boston market the day after – and a dynamic and growing labour force.
Government is becoming increasingly proactive about encouraging outside investors to partner with local business, while the Inuit development corporations, with their own resources and comprehensive local knowledge, have formed strategic alliances with both international and southern Canadian firms.
